As a lab PI, I am committed to providing research experiences for undergraduate students in Yale College. Contact me via email (see Contact) if you are interested in learning more about research opportunities in the Near Lab. Funding for summer research experiences are available through a number of sources that include the Yale Peabody Museum, the Yale College Dean's Research Fellowship & Rosenfeld Science Scholars Program, and STARS. Working in the lab is not contingent on funding and we mentor students who perform research for course credit and work study during the academic year. See a recent Yale News story about an undergraduate researcher in the Near Lab.
The Near Lab is actively recruiting graduate students through the Ph.D. program in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at Yale University. I encourage prospective students to reach out so we can learn more about your research interests in evolutionary biology. Students interested in joining the lab should contact me directly via email (see Contact).
Applications for the Ph.D. program at Yale are typically due in early or mid-December of a given year. On campus interviews typically occur in the second or third week of January.
The attached document outlines the expectations for graduate students and me in my role as PI in the Near Lab.

The Near Lab is excited to offer postdoctoral opportunities through the YIBS Gaylord Donnelley Postdoctoral Environmental Fellowship. Recent or near-completed Ph.D. candidates should contact me directly via email (see Contact).
Prospective postdocs can consider developing a proposal for the NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Biology. I am excited to collaborate and help candidates develop a proposal aimed at the evolutionary biology of fishes. If you are interested please contact me via email (see Contact).
